Dear all,
Music students have been excused my Ms Lynne Huang until 330pm on 18 Feb to attend this interview. Hence we will be having only ONE interview on the 18 Feb, 2pm @ Sigma Lab. I have received many questions regarding regrouping of SPIRE groups. After discussing with the SPIRE teacher coordinators, we allow group changing, subject to the following conditions:
(1) Every group includes at least one international student
(2) There are boy(s) and girl(s) in the same group
(3) Exchange of groups is done within the same class
(4) It is a one-to-one mutual exchange.

COPD brochure
Dear 08IP01 and 08IP02,
Will use this blog to post some updates from your questions:
Q: What is the COPD chart?
A: It's referring to the FILA chart.
Q: Is it graded?
A: No. The FILA Chart is important to guide your thought processes. The thinking process is what we are looking out for. Bring your FILA chart along with the brochure so that we can take a look and give you feedback.

Bio reps, pls collect them and DISTRIBUTE BEFORE Sat, 6 Sep and COMPLETE THE WORKSHEETS as best as you can. As these are extra stuff, you will have to use your class funds to defray the costs of printing.

UPDATED Impt admin announcement: POSTER ASSIGNMENT
Dear 07IP02 and 07IP04,
New info! Instead of just A3, you can now size your posters up to A1.
Poster presentation on 05 Sept 2008 (Fri) at IS lab.
07IP02: 0800-1100 (IS22)
07IP04: 1130-1330 (IS22)
So far, Ren-Jean & Cara have informed me they can't make it. If I don't hear from you by 28 Aug (Thur), I will be expecting your presence on 5 Sept 2008. "No-show" teams will have penalty marks imposed on them.
To ensure that grading is fair, ALL posters must be present on 5 Sept even if the students who made the poster are absent. It means you have to arrange for your classmates to bring it to the lab for you.
Also, you will have to present the poster during Term 4 if you are unable to show up on 5 Sept. A date will be announced shortly.

Flower evolution
07IPs,
How did the modern flower come about? Fossils from China suggest that flowers originated from a lakeside plant which produced ovules on its branching stems, which eventually modified into pretty, colourful flowers with the ability to attract insects to help them exchange genetic material through cross-pollination, or having wing-like structures to help dispersal by wind.
These observations all say one thing: the flower as a strategy to move towards sex as the primary method of reproduction.
